Earlier this month the official launch of the National Theatre of Scotland took place in Glasgow. Now people in Moray are being given the opportunity to find out more about the National Theatre of Scotland programme and how it will impact in Moray.
The National Theatre of Scotland and Moray Council’s Arts Development team will be hosting a local launch of the National Theatre of Scotland on Tuesday 29th November at 7.30 pm in the Supper Room of Elgin Town Hall.
The evening will be an opportunity to hear more about the NTS programme from Associate Directors for Learning, Simon Sharkey and Cief Executive, Neil Murray. Of particular interest will be ‘The Crucible’ project. NTS and TAG Theatre will be touring a production of Arthur Miller’s ‘The Crucible’ and there is an opportunity over the coming months for local actors to be part of the professional production when it is staged at the Universal Hall, Findhorn during the week of 24th April 2006. ‘The Crucible’ project will also involve weeks of workshops in three secondary schools and multi media projects to accompany the production.
People wishing to be part of ‘The Crucible’ performance will have to be prepared to make a commitment to weekly rehearsals and the full week of the production. Those interested in this aspect of the project will be able to sign up for the project at the launch.
If you would like to attend the launch please call Nick Fearne, Arts Development Officer, 01343 557148
