When is the next Cromarty Book Festival, is a question regularly put to Words Inc, the group of north writers who organised the event. The answer may now be 'In 2006' if a plan to re-launch the Festival comes to fruition.

Words Inc hosts an open meeting at the Cromarty Training Centre at 7.30pm on Wednesday 5th October. It is hoped that all local groups and individuals with an interest in the continuation of the Festival will come along. Anyone keen to join the team will be welcome.

The Training Centre is in the Old Brewery, Burnside Place, Cromarty and will be familiar to all who attended the previous Festivals.

First run in 1999, the Festival then took place in four consecutive years from 2001 to 2004 and became an established feature of the cultural calendar in the Highlands. At each Festival, Words Inc attracted many top writers to come to Cromarty for a weekend of workshops, readings and ceilidhs.

Now is the time to begin planning for a Festival in 2006.
