Visible Fictions Theatre Company on tour with Big Baby
16 September 2005

Visible Fictions presents Big Baby or The Nine Days’ Wonder.  A curious satirical tragedy in divers scenes and centuries by Brendan Murray. A Scottish Premiere directed by Douglas Irvine.

Following the success of Monster and Into the Dark, Visible Fictions return this autumn with a remarkable production of Brendan Murray’s Big Baby, a dark tale that reflects the greed, hypocrisy, ambition and exploitation of many centuries, encapsulated in the life of a small child and his innocent parents.

Every parent thinks their child is the best thing since sliced bread. But Janet and John have created someone very special indeed - a day-old baby who can talk! On the third day Big Baby is at the best school in London with the best teachers. By day five, he’s mixing with the rich, famous and glamorous of London town.

Janet & John’s son is undoubtedly a wunderkind, a genius and probably the most successful pupil in the world, ever. However, with great ambition comes great risk and for Big Baby and his parents, their journey in this dark and twisted world has a price that may, or may not, be worth paying.

Visible Fictions is recognised across the UK and internationally for creating exciting and engaging theatre of the highest quality. Now in its 13th year, the Company continues to astonish, enlighten and delight.
