In October 2004, to celebrate the opening of the Cairngorms National Park, the Newtonmore Community Woodland & Development Trust ran a weekend watercolour challenge Autumn Colour in the Cairngorms.
This year’s competition, Picture the Wildcat, will take place over the weekend of September 30th – October 2nd 2005. It is open to all and you can use any medium you wish to represent any aspect of the Wildcat Trail.
The Wildcat Trail is a varied 7-mile orbital path round the village of Newtonmore. It passes along the banks of three very different rivers, past waterfalls, through a gorge, and along moorland, offering superb vistas of the Cairngorm and Monadhliath mountains. It offers limitless inspiration for the artist.
