Next weekend (18th June 2005) sees the start of another seven days of top class entertainment in Moray as the Buckie Festival kicks off it’s third year of events.
Although the festival is minus a street parade this year, the Round Table Gala at Ian Johnston’s Park will help to get the town into a festival mood with lots of stalls and entertainment for all ages. The Gala starts at 2.00 pm.
Following on from the Gala, there’s the opportunity to dance your socks off at the Festival Ceilidh. Regulars at T in the Park, top ceilidh band, Hogtie will lead festival goers through well known and not so well known reels and dances with their very own caller. A great opportunity for those of you who are new to ceilidh dancing to learn how it’s done and have a lot of fun into the bargain.
Buckie Festival is proud to be able to offer a north-east audience the opportunity to see acts often only associated with the Edinburgh Fringe. This year top acts from the Fringe include internationally acclaimed cabaret singer Barb Jungr who will illuminate the festival with songs from her new album of Elvis classics ‘Love me Tender’. Capital Comedy give us a sneak preview of up and coming stand up talents heading for the Fringe this year Barry Dodds, Paul Pirie, Andy Sir and Mac Star.
