Do you work with children and young people who love music? Would you like to help them access more music making?
Funding is available to support music projects for young people aged 0-25years from the Youth Music Initiative (YMI) Informal Sector funding scheme which is managed by the Scottish Arts Council.
As Youth Music UK’s first development officer for Scotland, I would like to invite you along to a meeting to discuss ways to help children and young people access music making, and join provision together in order to develop music within and across your authority.
Youth Music UK was set up in 1999; it supports and facilitates high quality and diverse music-making projects for young people.
Youth Music UK is working in partnership with the Scottish Arts Council (SAC) to support the design and delivery of the Youth Music Initiative. (YMI)
An information session regarding the funding opportunities available through YMI is being held in THE DRAMA STUDIO at SPECTRUM ARTS CENTRE, 1 Margaret St by Inverness Bus Station at 7pm (to 9pm ) on Monday 20th June 2005
Nicola Killean, the Youth Music Development Officer - Scotland is keen to hear your ideas on possible programmes of work within your community. Along with your local arts officer, she will present information on the current funding guidelines and offer advice on how to go about putting together an application. The event also offers an excellent opportunity to find out what others in your region are planning.
Come along, meet people working in music in your region, and MAKE MORE MUSIC HAPPEN!
