"World class virtuoso" (Time Out) Spanish guitarist and composer Eduardo Niebla appears at the Universal Hall on Saturday 9th April 8.00pm with his internationally acclaimed trio, Ricardo Garcia - Guitar accompaniment and Sanjay Jhalla - Tabla, to present his "poignantly poetic...and truly fabulous" (The Scotsman) fusion of flamenco gypsy jazz.  Eduardo is one of the most brilliant and emotive musicians on the world circuit today, combining flamenco traditions with Arabic, Indian and Jazz influences, to create a truly "breathtaking" (The Scotsman) and "exhilarating" (Jazz Journal) musical experience "full of hot, dark, Mediterranean passion." Benefactors of his talents have included Craig David, George Michael, Lol Coxhill, Paban Das Baul (spiritual Indian singer and  percussionist) and maestro bamboo flute player Deepak Ram, whose album Searching for Satyam subsequently won best instrumental album at the 2000 South African Music Awards.  In addition, Eduardo has recorded 22 cds of his own stunningly beautiful compositions and has composed works for films and documentaries, including for the BBC.
