Ever fancied getting into the film industry?
09 March 2005

Films on Fire Ltd are now recruiting crew and cast to make a short feature. The ten minute film will be shot in May using some great locations in Easter Ross and Inverness.

The film, written by Invergordon man Ro Goodwin, called "The Man Who Learned How To Die", is about a pessimistic electrician, Mark Wright, who is down on his luck. He finds things go from bad to worse when he is involved in a fatal car accident. In his last moments he realises he could have had a better life just by changing his thinking. It is a very moving yet suiprisingly uplifting story of a man’s struggle with himself to find fulfillment.

"Once it is made," says writer, producer, and director Ro Goodwin, "the short will be shown at film festivals in the UK including the NUB film festival in Evanton this December." Excited about the progress of the preparatory work before filming starts, Ro said, "We already have so many supporters such as the police, ambulance, and local businesses. It really is all coming together effortlessly." It is also hoped that National Television will show the film in 2006.

On the subject of manpower, Mr Goodwin had this to say, "Although we have a core of people that are committed to the project we can always do with more help." He added, "There is a lot of talent in the North and we are willing to help people of any age to get experience in this media."

If you have a lot, some or no experience (and willing to learn) with a desire to get the job done then pick up the phone right away and call Marie Goodwin 01349 853712 or email reception@filmsonfire.co.uk and get full details of how you can get involved in the movies!
