Shetland Arts Trust are to promote a youth gig in Clickimin Centre Bowls Hall on Saturday 5th March as part their ‘Solid Rock’ youth music programme.
The gig forms part of a full weekend of youth music activity, including two days of workshops run by the Rockschool organisation from London. A number of highly skilled professional musicians from the organisation will be on hand to guide several local rock bands through a range of music and performance related issues, with a view to assisting their ongoing development.
The line up for the gig at night includes the Juvenile Delinquents, The Rockies, Jillian Isbister and the Victims of Authority among others, while the Rockschool band will also perform a set during the concert. Doors open at 6.30, with the concert running from 7pm – 10.30. All ages are welcome, but under 12’s should be accompanied by an adult. Tickets cost £3 and are available on the door on the night, and it should be noted that this is an alcohol free event.
The Arts Trust ‘Solid Rock’ project is funded by Youth Music Scotland with support from the Scottish Arts Council.
