The Grim Northern Social play The Dreich End Festival
11 February 2005

Among the many highlights of the forthcoming Dreich End Music Festival, which takes place throughout Perthshire from Thursday 24 - Monday 28 February, is an appearance by The Grim Northern Social at the Twa Tams in Perth, Scotland's Music Pub of the Year 2003, on Saturday 26 February.

The five piece band from Glasgow spent a quiet 2004 recording a new album, but have now exploded back on to the music scene with an extensive Scottish tour during February and March.

The Grim Northern Social have built up a reputation all over Britain and America for their electrifying live sets and in 2004 their debut single, Honey, was voted number 13 in the legendary - Rolling Stone Magazine "Top 100 Best Rock Tunes for 2004".

The band's appearance in Perth is sandwiched between their chart topping single Urban Pressure featuring on a new Midnight Club Playstation 2 game from January and a shortlisting to feature as the 'In house' band in a new British cult film due to be filmed this summer.

Also appearing at the Twa Tams during the Dreich End Festival is the vibrant and consistently infectious acoustic folk-funk sound of Vasco De Gamba, who had a successful run at the Edinburgh Festival in 2004 and X-Ray Delta Five & The X Vectors.

For a full programme of concerts, ceilidhs, and performances by local musicians at pubs, clubs and venues across Perthshire contact Perth Tourist Information Centre on 01738 450600 or visit www.perthshire.co.uk/music

Winter will be ending soon. Celebrate the arrival of Spring at the Dreich End Festival.
