Blazin' Fiddles will be presenting Highland Hospice with a cheque for £1000 this Saturday (5 February 2005) prior to their sold out show at Eden Court.
The money was raised by four of the band when they completed a sponsored cycle run from Inverness to Fort William last August. The four (Allan Henderson, Iain MacFarlane, Aidan O'Rourke and MArc Clement) also stopped in a few pubs along the way and entertained folk with some tunes in an effort to further boost the collection.
The award winning band are taking part in the final night of the highly acclaimed "With Strings attached" project which has been a collaboration between singers Justin Currie (Del Amitri) Eddi Reader and Colin MacIntyre (Mull Historical Society) with the instrumental flair of Blazin' fiddles along with a five piece brass section, and a ryhthm section featuring members of Shoogelnifty, The Lush Rollers and The Felsons. Last weeks sold out show at the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall was greeted with a phenomenal audience response as well as universal critical acclaim.
This week the show goes to Edinburgh's Usher Hall (Thursday 3rd,) The Music Hall Aberdeen, and finishes at Eden Court Inverness.
