North Lands Glass in Caithness has been granted an additional £30,000 to help it develop its community links and provision for artists in advance of the 2007 Year of Highland Culture.

As well as allowing the organisation to cement its role in the celebrations, the award also recognises the increasing international role that North Lands fulfils both in the quality of the residences it hosts and in the international profile that Scottish glass work has achieved.
