The Saltire Society Highland Branch are holding their 4th annual celebration of Scotland’s special day, in a feast of words, music and song on 27 November at the Inverness Town House.
Presenters Bill Hamilton and Rona Taylor will introduce:
- Holly Besant from Wester Ross, a fine up-and-coming young folksinger, who has featured on recordings from the National Centre of Excellence in Traditional Music at Plockton, and has starred in their performances at Eden Court in recent years
- Fionnar, the outstanding all-girl Gaelic singing group based in Dingwall and tutored by Mairi Mhor Fellow Fiona MacKenzie
- Ranald Smith and Iain MacGillivray, stalwarts of the Inverness Folk Club, who have been entertaining local audiences for many years and have recently produced a CD
- Iain Hamilton, well-known and innovative local piper
- the Inverness Fiddlers, led by Duncan Dyker, who regularly sell out at Eden Court in their annual rally.
