Cappella Nova, Scotland's leading professional vocal ensemble specialising in early (medieval and renaissance) and contemporary music, will be performing its popular ‘Carols by Candlelight’ in the magnificent Long Gallery at Scone Palace on Sunday 19th December.
The ensemble’s annual festive event returns with a Russian theme this year. Besides the uniquely special mix of nostalgia and novelty, traditional favourites, and carols for the audience, watch out for some wonderful new repertoire, full of magic, mystery and fun. The programme includes a new carol by Peter McGarr, ancient chant from Russian monasteries, and Tchaikovsky as you’ve never heard him before!
At Scone Palace, the ensemble will be joined by the exquisite tones of the concert harp, played by Catriona McKay.
‘For a bit of festive cheer it is hard to beat Cappella Nova’s annual seasonal offering…this is an occasion that simply has a lovely, relaxed, celebratory atmosphere’.
