The Neil Gunn Trust is delighted to announce that Marilyn Ferguson, who until recently taught at Fortrose Academy, has become a Trustee. Marilyn brings the Trust’s numbers back to the original seven.

Repairs and conspicuous improvements to the car park area of the Viewpoint have been carried out and a small plaque remembering the Trust’s first Chairman, the late Dr Kerr Yule fixed to the bench seat.
Alastair Reid delivered the first Neil Gunn Lecture at the Edinburgh International Book Festival to a sell out audience of about two hundred and fifty people.
Greetings cards featuring artwork by sculptor/artist Allan Haldane and prepared by Esther Armstrong are now on sale at various locations around Strathpeffer including Brunstane Lodge, the Craft Shop and the Station, Coul House Hotel and the Station Café in Dingwall. Already they have attracted much favourable comment.

John Pick, biographer of Neil Gunn and now author of a new critical work on Neil’s books, is to speak at Dingwall Community Centre on Thursday 7th October at 2:30pm. John Pick is probably the world’s leading expert on the author and his talk should prove fascinating. Local people, as well as visitors to the area, are most welcome to attend.
