Lives of people with Multiple Sclerosis shown in new exhibition
02 September 2004

The lives of people with multiple sclerosis are documented in a new photographic exhibition- Every Walk Of Life- open to the public from 4-24 September 2004, at the Moray Resource Centre, Elgin.

Moray Resource Centre is a day service for adults with a physical and sensory disability. They are celebrating their tenth anniversary by hosting this interesting exhibition, highlighting the shocking fact that Scotland has the highest rate of MS in the world, many of which live in the Moray area.

The 50 black and white portrait photographs in the exhibition aim to portray people with multiple sclerosis in a positive and realistic way, showing that people with MS do come from every walk of life.  The exhibition began in 2003 as a project to mark the 50th anniversary of the MS Society. Portrait packs were sent to MS Society members who wished to take part in the project.  The packs included tips on taking photographs from a professional photographer and a black and white film.  Some photographs have been taken by a professional photographer to ensure that those more severely affected by MS were able to participate.

The exhibition will be at Moray Resource Centre, Maisondieu Road, Elgin. Open Monday to Friday 09.00-17.00hrs plus Sat. 4th & Sat. 11th Sept. 1-4pm, Tues. 14th Sept. 5-8pm, Fri. 17th & 24th Sept. 5-8pm. Free admission. For more information telephone 01343 551339.
