Get Ready to Rock at the first Tartan Heart Festival
26 June 2004

TARTAN HEART FESTIVAL - a 12 hour feast of rock, celtic, country, world music and much more in the romantic and spectacular natural arena of the Old Italian Gardens at Belladrum, 14th August 2004, 12 noon to midnight.

35 years after Woodstock, the earth-mother of all festivals, come and relive the spirit of '69 in the incomparable setting of the Scottish Highlands in aid of the charity Maggie's Cancer Care Centres.

To mark this year's 50th anniversary of rock 'n roll, the wild child of rockabilly Linda Gail Lewis, Jerry Lee's little sis, heads up a programme of stunning depth and diverse originality including: Andy Gunn's Blues Band with special guest Geno Washington, the celebrated blues and soul exponent; Karen Matheson and Donald Shaw of Scotland's premier Celtic fusion band Capercaillie; Ex Love & Money rock balladeer James Grant & friends; tyros of the Glasgow indie band scene Grim Northern Social; the melodic harmonies and rythmns of the Colombian Carribean coast from Toto La Momposina; high energy acid croft exponents the Peat Bog Faeries; the psychedelic West Coast trippy rock of the Lush Rollers; Scotland’s foremost pedal steel guitarist, David Ogilvy and band and; the Mystik Shoes - Ska, Reggae and …ATTITUDE.

Alongside the music programme there will be: the Nub’s bizarre roving portfolio of street theatre characters; Henry Fosbrook’s Woodland Orchestra for the younger mind and ear; fine food and Black Isle organic ales from the Hootannany’s Bar; yoga; tai chi; sacred dance; aromatherapy; acupuncture and herbal remedies; tattoo; face-painting; crèche; stalls, kids’ stuff and much, much more.

Tickets - £25 per head; 12 and under free - are strictly limited, so book early! Parking and camping are free on 13/14th August. Details of the festival can be found on our web site at www.belladrum.co.uk where credit card bookings can be made on-line.

You can prebook a sleeps-six ready-erected and prepared tepee - air beds; stove; carpet, etc. - by calling Greg at the Tipi Company (01362 680074; 07818 420041; info@thetipico.com )

So turn on, tune in and drop out for a weekend at this festival for all ages – a party in a place of beauty, a delight for mind, body and spirit, a musical cornucopia, and a mellow, civilised and intimate contrast to the mega-fests of Glastonbury and elsewhere.
