New Development for Gaelic Medium Feis
11 June 2004

Feis Tir A’ Mhurainn, the annual Gaelic Medium Feis, will be held in Daliburgh School from Monday 12th to Friday 16th July.  They have an excellent group of tutors this year, including some home grown talent, and are hoping to have the following subjects, Drama, Singing, Guitar, Keyboard, Accordion, Chanter, Tin-Whistle, Fiddle, Clarsach, Art, Highland Dancing and Shinty.  Also on offer for the younger Feis participants, who do not take part in any of the instrument classes, will be storytelling and games.  Participants may choose four subjects, one of which must be drama and/or singing.

As a new development this year to attract the older age group they are offering “group work”.  This will be a chance for the more competent artists to develop their skills together in a new and exciting way.  The price for the week is £20 per child (£15 for any additional children from the same family).  This includes transport to the Feis from Benbecula and Eriskay.

Evening activities will include an informal ceilidh in Kildonan on Tuesday 13th July.  The fantastic tutor’s ceilidh will be held in St Peter’s on Wednesday 14th and the grand finale will be held on Friday 16th in Daliburgh School at 7pm.
