| Highland Fringe Exhibition This exhibition, jointly hosted by the Castle Gallery in Inverness and Tore Art Gallery on the Black Isle, will provide an opportunity to show and promote the work of some of the best artists living and working in the Highlands. | Ancient Egypt Comes to Shetland For the next two years school pupils in Shetland will have the opportunity to handle replica Egyptian artefacts from National Museums Scotland. Museum on the Move (MoM): Ancient Egypt is a touring learning resource which has been developed by National Museums Scotland in partnership with Shetland Museum and Archives, Renfrewshire Council and East Ayrshire Council.

| Small and Perfectly Formed: Local Festival, Known for Music and Craic, Now adds Family Day to Event. With three weeks to go “Drams in the Field”, the Glenelg Music Festival (Drams), announces its line up and for the first time a Family Day during the day on the Saturday. Over the weekend of the 14th & 15th September the festival will be held on Bernera Farm. | Call for Artists As part of their tenth birthday celebrations, An Tobar is inviting every artist who has exhibited with them over the past ten years to donate a piece of artwork for their winter exhibition.
The project, Reflections from the Well, is intended to reflect the breadth of work supported by An Tobar and as part of the project a fund will be established to support future Argyll artists.

| Aye! Productions presents The Ballad (a story without words) An exquisite and moving physical theatre duet, The Ballad tells the story of a young couple who, by a chance meeting, are destined to be bound forever by love. Inspired by the storytelling, imagery and yearning of traditional Scottish ballads, it combines theatre with aerial work and live music. The Ballad was originally created as a co-production with The Lemon Tree in 2005. It returns now by popular demand.

| 'Theft Carried Out in the Name of Art' is the subject of new exhibition at Peacock Visual Arts "Lesser artists borrow, great artists steal."- Igor Stravinsky Where does crime end and art start? ‘Lifting' is a show at Peacock Visual Arts exploring instances where art gets into the realm of the morally uncertain. The results are humorous and poignant revelations on the complexities of social ideas of ownership, originality and copyright.
The exhibition contains work by various international artists, is curated by Atopia Projects and runs from 25 August until 29 September. 20 August 2007

 Xuefei-Yang. | Chinese guitarist joins SCO for final Highlands Tour of 2007 The Scottish Chamber Orchestra will be joined by Chinese guitarist Xuefei Yang and conductor Alexander Shelley for the final SCO Highlands Tour of 2007, with performances of music by Rodrigo, Haydn, Stravinsky and Fauré in Stirling Castle's Great Hall (Thursday 6 September), Kingussie's Badenoch Centre (Friday 7 September) and Thurso High School (Saturday 8 September), where the SCO will perform as the opening event of Caithness Arts Festival.

| Tional a gathering for Gaelic learners of all levels A unique and vibrant, family-orientated Gaelic language gathering comes to Ullapool in the form of “Tional”. On 1st and 2nd September the Gaelic language will take the centre stage at the MacPhail centre thanks to Clì Gàidhlig, the organisation promoting and helping adult learners of the Gaelic language. Participants can take part in a variety of activities, but they will all be led in Gaelic with translations where necessary.
