Ardross to Host Adaptation Of Famous Authors Work

Fans of The Railway Children, Five Children and It and other books by E.Nesbit have a treat in store for them this summer when, on Friday August 17th at 7.30pm, Jabberwocky Theatre Company brings to Ardross Community Hall its five star production of her magical story The White Cat.

Pigeon Detectives Landed By Bella

Indie Rockers The Pigeon Detectives have been added to the Belladrum bill. The Leeds band, released an album this year which charted straight in at Number 3 in the UK. They will headline the Hothouse Stage (sponsored by MacRae & Dick) at Belladrum, near Beauly, Inverness-shire on Saturday 11th August.

Alt-W Awards Enable Innovative Projects in Scotland.

Alt-w, the annual award scheme which supports Scottish creative talent and web-based digital innovation is pleased to announce the successful award-winners for 2007: Jaygo Bloom, Henry Cruickshank, ~in the fields, Matt Hulse, and Jason Nelson. Open to Scottish-based researchers and practitioners within the creative industries, awards were given to both emerging and established producers in the fields of visual arts, animation, and interactive film production. The 5 full production awards, in the amount of £5000 each, will give these practitioners the resources to bring their projects to fruition by July 2008.

Highland Council Gaelic Language Plan: Consultation

The Highland Council is required by the Gaelic Language Act 2005 to produce a Gaelic Language Plan and to consult on it with interested parties. The current draft Plan was approved as the basis for consultation by the Council's Gaelic Committee on July 12 2007.

Progressive, an independent market research agency, are working alongside Red Cell, on behalf of Bòrd na Gàidhlig, to investigate the ways in which more people can be encouraged to learn Gaelic and find out more about Gaelic language and culture. Two more Gaelic schools will be up and running in the Highlands within the next four years, it was revealed yesterday, including a new purpose-built primary school in Lochaber.

Number 1 in a series of Fortunate Events

Highland Experimental Arts & Technology

Arts in Motion welcome you to a preliminary meeting of an experimental Arts and Technology group. The intention of the group is to look at and discuss all of our work on the interface of arts and digital media, to bring in specialist speakers and workshops, to put on occasional events highlighting ongoing work and encouraging one off collaborations.
